I’ve been working on something big behind the scenes, and I’m excited to finally share some details. We’re pursuing an official licensing deal with Fanatics, and we have a meeting scheduled with them in March.

This whole thing was my idea, and I’ve been leading the project from day one. The concept is straightforward — take the custom laser-cut work we’ve been doing and bring it into the world of officially licensed merchandise. We already have the tools, the skills, and the samples to prove we can deliver.

The Glowforge Pro Does the Heavy Lifting

Our Glowforge Pro has been running overtime producing samples for this pitch. If you’re not familiar with the machine, it’s a professional-grade laser cutter that can engrave and cut through wood, acrylic, leather, and more with incredible precision.

We’ve been dialing in settings across different materials to show the range of what’s possible — two-tone acrylic, gold mirror acrylic, fluorescent acrylic, wood, and more. Each sample demonstrates a different product category we could scale up with an official license.

Sample Products We’ve Created

Here’s a look at some of the pieces we’ve been producing:

Two-Tone Acrylic Logo Cutouts

We’ve been experimenting with green-to-white and black-to-white two-tone acrylic sheets. When you laser engrave through the top layer, the contrasting color underneath is revealed. The results are sharp and the material possibilities are wide open — we’re still figuring out exactly what products these will become, but that’s the fun of prototyping.

Wood Veneer Stickers

We’re also producing laser-engraved wood veneer stickers with 3M adhesive backing. These have a natural wood finish with the logo engraved into the surface, and they peel and stick onto just about anything.

Engraved Coasters

One product we’re actively developing is custom engraved coasters. We’ve got the Glowforge dialed in for these — here’s a shot mid-engrave on a coaster run.

Gold Engraved Character Pieces

Some of our favorite samples are the gold mirror acrylic character cutouts. These are precision-cut and engraved with detailed character art, and the gold finish gives them a premium collectible feel.

Branded Acrylic Stands

We also produced fluorescent acrylic phone/card stands featuring our TechBinBytes branding alongside licensed artwork. These glow under UV light and look incredible on a display shelf or at a live show booth.

Box Break Sign-Up Boards

For the live show side of the business, we designed custom box break sign-up clipboards. These are printed and laminated with branded headers, giving our breaks a more professional and on-brand presentation.

Vectorization on Cut Glue Build

One of the technical pieces of this project involves our other platform, Cut Glue Build. We’re looking at adding vectorization capabilities to the codebase — the ability to take raster images (like JPEGs and PNGs) and convert them into clean SVG vector files that are ready for laser cutting.

Right now, preparing artwork for the Glowforge requires manual vector tracing or finding existing SVG files. Building vectorization directly into Cut Glue Build would streamline the entire workflow from design to production, making it faster to go from concept to finished product.

What’s Next

The March meeting with Fanatics is the big milestone. We’ve got the samples, we’ve got the production capability, and we’ve got the platform to sell through. Now it’s about making the pitch and showing them what we can do.

Stay tuned — I’ll share updates as things develop.
