After three attempts plagued by technical issues — audio problems, OBS connection drops, stream configs that just wouldn’t cooperate — we finally got a clean show running on Whatnot. And we made our first sale.
How It Went
It took a few tries to figure out the OBS-to-Whatnot pipeline, but once we nailed the connection and streaming setup, things clicked. We landed 2 sales on our first real show. Not exactly a sell-out, but hey — everyone starts somewhere. Now that we understand how OBS connects and what settings actually work, going live feels way more manageable.
The Shipping Situation
Here’s the thing nobody warns you about: Whatnot tried to charge us nearly $5 to ship a giveaway item — something that could easily go out in an envelope. That’s wild. We’ve already reached out to customer service about it, but let’s just say their support isn’t exactly known for being speedy. We’ll see how that plays out.
Finding Our Lane
We haven’t jumped into social media yet. Honestly, we’re still figuring out our niche and what makes TechBinBytes TechBinBytes. No point in posting just to post — we’d rather show up with something worth watching.
Why We Started This
When we kicked this off, the goal was simple: clear out some of our own stuff and flip interesting finds along the way. We’re not trying to build a warehouse empire. We just like the hunt — digging through bins, checking return pallets, and finding gems that deserve a second life.
What’s Next
Tuesday we’re heading out to scavenge. More bins, more returns, more finds. We need to keep the pipeline flowing if we’re going to make this a regular thing.
Stay tuned — the best finds haven’t happened yet.
